I passagen som föregår skriver filosofen, musikern, och journalisten Coleman Hughes, att vad han kallar neorasism, även har byggt in ”politiskt stöd” i begreppet ras. Som exempel tar han något som president Joe Bidén sa under sin kampanj:
”If you have a problem deciding whether you’re for mer Trump, then you ain’ t black”. (C. Coleman:2024:22)
Det är inte upp till Bidén att tala om (eller ”klassificera”) vem som är svart amerikan eller inte, är Coleman Hughes underförstådda poäng.
Och kanske kan man fråga sig om det också finns (pågående) ”neorasistiska” tankegångar in i Sverige? Då frågan om hur ”svensk” (medborgare) man måste/bör vara, ofta spelas upp i det offentliga.
